# Is PMS linked to difficulty making decisions and solving problems?

Yes. Women with PMS were more likely to be indecisive, impulsive, and avoid problems when faced with decisions.

 Early or limited evidence

1,157 female university students in eastern Turkey

## What they did

Cross-sectional survey of 1,157 female university students in eastern Turkey using questionnaires about PMS, indecisiveness, and problem-solving ability.

## What they found

70.4% of students had PMS. Those with PMS had significantly higher rates of indecision, impulsiveness in decisions, poor self-perception about solving problems, avoidance when facing problems, lack of confidence in problem-solving, and acting without thinking.

## What it means for you

PMS may be connected to trouble with decision-making and problem-solving. This was a single university in one part of Turkey, so the results may not apply to all women or different age groups.
