# Can a teaching program improve girls' knowledge about PMS?

Yes. A one-week online teaching program clearly improved girls' knowledge about PMS. Before teaching, less than half had good knowledge. After teaching, all girls had adequate knowledge.

 Early or limited evidence

60 adolescent girls in India

## What they did

Researchers tested 60 adolescent girls before and after a structured online teaching program. Girls completed a knowledge questionnaire on day 1, received online teaching on day 7, and completed the questionnaire again on day 14.

## What they found

Before teaching, 48.3% of girls had moderate knowledge about PMS and its management. After teaching, 100% of girls had adequate knowledge. The average knowledge score increased from 19.1 to 28.46.

## What it means for you

A short teaching program can increase girls' knowledge about PMS. However, this study only measured knowledge, not whether girls actually felt better or managed their symptoms differently. There was no control group for comparison.
