Not specified in this discussion

## What they did

Discussion of premenstrual syndrome and its effects on quality of life, with emphasis on individualized treatment approaches.

## What they found

The exact cause of PMS is still being studied. Approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention have been identified and should be tailored to each woman's needs, considering her overall health, reproductive history, other conditions, and how well she tolerates therapy.

## What it means for you

There is no single treatment that works for all women with PMS. Each woman needs a treatment plan matched to her individual situation. The underlying cause of PMS is not yet fully understood. Herbal medicines are mentioned as a treatment option, but no specific evidence is provided about their effectiveness.

The premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a pathological symptom that significantly reduces the quality of a woman’s life. The etiology and pathogenesis to date have not been sufficiently studied, but the diagnosis, treatment and prevention that are to be complied with have been identified. The treatment of the PMS should be differentiated, taking into account the overall and reproductive health of the woman, the concomitant diseases, the degree of severity of ICP, the portability of therapy, etc.
