# Does pelvic stability exercise help PMS and back pain?

Yes, pelvic stability exercise significantly improved PMS symptoms, back pain, and pelvic alignment compared to no exercise (p<.05).

 Moderate study design

30 female college students with PMS

## What they did

30 college students with PMS were divided into two groups of 15 each. One group did Heller concept pelvic stabilization exercises while the other group received no intervention. Back pain, PMS, and pelvic alignment were measured before and after.

## What they found

The exercise group showed statistically significant improvements in back pain, PMS scale, and pelvic alignment when comparing before and after measurements (p<.05).

## What it means for you

Pelvic stability exercise may help reduce PMS and back pain. This study had a control group, which makes it stronger than studies with no comparison. The main limits are the small sample size of 30 total and that it only included college students, so results may not apply to other ages.
