Does aerobic exercise or yoga work better for PMS symptoms?
Both aerobic exercise and yoga reduced PMS symptoms, but aerobic exercise was more effective than yoga.
What they did
Researchers tested 52 women (26 did aerobic exercise, 26 did yoga). Both groups followed their program for one menstrual cycle. Researchers measured PMS symptoms before and after.
What they found
Both groups showed clear improvements in PMS symptoms. When comparing the two groups, aerobic exercise was more effective than yoga for reducing PMS symptoms.
What it means for you
Aerobic exercise may work better than yoga for PMS, though both seem to help. The main limits are that only 52 women completed the study and the program lasted just one menstrual cycle.
