Does kinesio taping or pelvic rocking exercise help PMS symptoms?
Both kinesio taping and pelvic rocking exercise reduced PMS symptoms and pain equally, with no significant difference between them.
What they did
This was a randomized controlled trial with 60 teenagers aged 17 to 21 with PMS. One group received kinesio tape applied for 5 consecutive days before their period for two menstrual cycles. The other group performed pelvic rocking exercises three times per week for two months. Both groups were measured for pain and PMS symptoms before and after.
What they found
Both groups improved in pain and PMS symptoms, with no statistically significant difference between the groups.
What it means for you
Both methods appear to help, but we cannot say one is better than the other. The study is small and only included teenagers, so results may not apply to adult women.
