Survey study, 2023
Does online exercise improve PMS symptoms?
Yes. Women who did 8 weeks of online aerobic exercise and movement training had clear improvements in PMS symptoms and mood.
What they did
29 women completed 8 weeks of online training consisting of aerobic exercise for 30 minutes twice weekly and movement training for 30 minutes once weekly. They were assessed before and after.
What they found
PMS symptoms and mood improved significantly. Women reported positive feedback and stuck with the program.
What it means for you
Online exercise may help reduce PMS and improve mood. Online programs are more affordable than in-person classes. This was a small pilot study without a comparison group, so more research is needed to see how online training compares to exercising in person.
