Is stress from online learning linked to PMS during the pandemic?
Yes. Stress and PMS increased together with strong statistical evidence (r = 0.782, p = 0.000).
What they did
50 midwifery students (44 in final sample) completed questionnaires measuring stress during online classes and PMS symptoms.
What they found
Strong positive correlation between stress and PMS (r = 0.782, p = 0.000). As academic stress from online learning increased, PMS severity increased.
What it means for you
Stress from online learning may worsen PMS symptoms. The study was small and limited to one Indonesian university during the pandemic, so results may not apply to other settings or students.
