Does Brahmighrita (an Ayurvedic herb mixture) help PMS?
This abstract does not report any study results. It explains the theory behind why Brahmighrita should help PMS based on Ayurvedic medicine principles, but does not provide findings on whether it actually does.
What they did
The title indicates this was a single arm clinical trial (one group with no comparison) testing Brahmighrita in women with PMS, but the abstract provided only explains theoretical background and does not describe the actual study details or how many women participated.
What they found
No findings are reported in the abstract provided. The abstract only discusses how Brahmighrita ingredients may work based on Ayurvedic medicine theory.
What it means for you
Without actual study results, we cannot tell if Brahmighrita helps PMS. A single arm trial (no comparison group) makes it harder to tell if any benefits are from the herb or from placebo. More research with a control group would be needed.

Original abstract
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a psychoneuroendocrine disorder marked by cyclic emotional, behavioural and physical symptoms during the luteal phase, resolving with menstruation. It affects many women of reproductive age due to hormonal fluctuations, altered serotonin and GABA activity and individual sensitivity. Common symptoms include irritability, mood swings, anxiety, breast tenderness, bloating and fatigue. PMS is not mentioned in Ayurveda directly but can be correlated with Pitta Prakopa with Vata Sanchya Awastha is Rituvyateeta kala symptomatically. Brahmighrita with its Medhya and Rasayana properties promotes mental calmness and emotional stability. Ingredients like Trikatu, Danti, Aragwadha and Vidanga alleviate somatic symptoms through Doshaghna action offering holistic relief. Bacosides in Brahmi modulate serotonergic and dopaminergic pathways. Overall Brahmighrita exhibits Tridoshaghna, Vedanasthapana, Balya and Medhya properties, making it beneficial in PMS management.
