Does hand acupuncture or hand moxibustion reduce PMS symptoms?
Yes. Both hand acupuncture and hand moxibustion significantly reduced overall PMS symptom severity compared to control. Moxibustion also improved skin temperature balance.
What they did
A quasi-experimental pilot study comparing hand acupuncture therapy (HAT) and hand moxibustion therapy (HMT) to a control group. Experimental groups received 10 sessions of either treatment.
What they found
Both HAT and HMT groups had significantly reduced overall PMS symptom severity scores following therapy compared to the control group. The HMT group also showed improved khi flow and balanced skin temperature in symmetric body areas, while the HAT group did not.
What it means for you
